CPACT NATIONAL CAPITAL REGION LAUNCH
Ottawa- The official launch ceremony of CPACT-National Capital Region (NCR) was held on July 19, 2019 in Ottawa, which was attended by more than 200 people comprising dignitaries, Government officials, diplomats, community leaders, writers, journalists, bankers and people from diverse ethnic backgrounds and diaspora residing in NCR, Toronto and Montreal. CPACT is proud of this achievement realized jointly with colossal amount of efforts from its colleagues based in Ottawa under the leadership of Mr. Tariq Mahmood, President of CPACT-NCR and immense support from the Trustees and members of Montreal and Toronto Chapters. The event was a resounding success imbued with exchange of ideas and motivational dialogue on suggesting measures to foster trade relations between Pakistan and Canada.
Distinguished among those who attended the ceremony were His Excellency Raza Bashir Tarar, High Commissioner for Pakistan to Canada, Representative of Honorable Ahmed Hussen, Minister for Immigration, Refugees & Citizenship and Mona Fortier, Member of Parliament (MP), Nathalie Des Rossiers, Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP), Marie-France Lalonde, MPP, Mr. Muhammad Saleem, Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan, Mr. Nadim Haider Kiani, Minister (Press), Mr. Mushtaq Ahmad, First Secretary, Ms. Sharjeela Khan, Representative from Business Development Bank of Canada, MP Candidates from diverse political parties running up for the forthcoming federal elections on October 21, 2019, Mr. Les Chram, Mr. Brian St. Louis and Ms. Khatera Akbari.

“Launch of CPACT-NCR is a watermark moment, one that wouldn’t have happened without perseverance, punctiliousness and relentless endeavors of all the members of CPACT-NCR and support from the Trustees along the way” said Mr. Tariq Mahmood. Mr. Abdul Hayee Bokhari, Founder Chairman CPACT, Mr. Rana Zheer Khan, Chairman and Mr. Nasir Malik, Co-Chairman thanked and appreciated CPACT- NCR team for holding such a magnificent event. Dr. Atiq Rehman, Director CPACT-NCR provided valuable insight into the trade potential between Pakistan and Canada. Ms. Sadia Sajid, Vice President, Development, CPACT spoke on the importance of women empowerment and women’s role in building and developing entrepreneurship and their contributions in strengthening economies.
Mr. Raza Bashir Tarar congratulated CPACT on its successful launch and the efforts to provide a platform to Pakistani community in promoting bilateral trade between Canada and Pakistan. He also lauded the role of CPACT in women representation and engagement, terming women’s empowerment and economic development to be intertwined and closely related. Both MPP Nathalie Des Rosiers and Marie-France Lalonde congratulated CPACT-NCR on their official launch and applauded the role of Pakistani community in their contributions towards Canadian economy.
This important event accorded CPACT the opportunity to engage and develop even stronger connections with members and partners in bringing better prospects to exchange novel notion, strengthen our resources and professional expertise through CPACT that seeks to become the trusted voice, a primary point of contact and a preferred networking forum for Pakistani community, business professionals and executives doing business between Pakistan and Canada by linking players from private, business and governmental sectors to strengthen resources, promote bilateral trade practices and create investment opportunities in both the countries.
