CPACT has taken steps towards donations for Diamer Bhasha and Mohmand Dam
The Diamer-Bhasha Dam on the Indus River in northern Pakistan comes with an astounding price tag of over US$8.5 billion. The project, after an eight-year construction period, would provide 4500 MW of electricity for the national grid, far more pressing issue that half of Pakistan's population (around 80 million people) have no electricity access whatsoever. Mohmand Dam (800MW) is proposed to be constructed across Swat River at a distance of 5 km from existing Munda Headwork and about 48 km from Peshawar in Mohmand Agency, FATA. It is one of the major projects to be undertaken by WAPDA after a longtime since commissioning of Tarbela and Mangla Dam. This project will not going to contribute 2,862 GWH Mean Annual Energy to national grid but also supply water to Peshawar City.
In addition this Dam will going to preserve the very precious commodity i.e. water which will contribute significantly during dry season. Keeping in view the importance and significance of the project, FWO has initiated and decided to come forward for this Nobel cause, in this connection bidding documents of Mohmand Dam has been submitted on 26th June 2018 with collaboration of Joint venture with international firm.
CPACT with its mission towards the community has taken a big step with the initiative of Pakistan's Prime Minister Imran Khan for the fundraising of Dam to be created in Pakistan for the better situations of water storage, electricity production and recycling. Cpact's ultimatum is to help for the better future of our country Pakistan and has thus created a donation forum where you can either directly donate for the dam creation or donate via Cpact. This will entirely be nonprofit and directly transferred in the production of Dam.
Why Donate via CPACT
While the best way to donate is always to send money directly to DAM fund Account in Pakistan or in Ottawa however sending a small amount via wire has its own cost, CPACT received many request from members and public to create a way where people can still pay smaller amount and be a part of positive initiative, the money donated here will have zero cost to the donor that means CPACT will absorb the cost of collection and cost of sending the money directly to DAM fund, Along with the money CPACT will send list of all donors to Government of Pakistan and will make sure each donor is counted in this future project. We encourage you to write a comment which will be passed on to Government of Pakistan.
All donations will be announced on the site with donor name and the amount he/she paid unless the Donor decides to stay anonymous.
P.S: This donation is not a Charity and there won't be any receipt for Tax deduction. All amounts are non-refundable.
All donations are collected in Canadian Currency, final remittance will be done in Equivalent US$ amount
